Walking – Best Way to Lose Weight

If you’ve decided to get rid of a few extra pounds then perhaps you’ve created some sort of workout plan. Perhaps you’re a newbie to exercising or you haven’t worked out in a while? Sometimes it can feel a bit too much and even a little bit scary… not to worry, there’s an easy way to get back into exercising again: walking! You should definitely add walking to any exercise program you do.

There are lots of ways to mix walking into your day-to-day routine. You might want to take your dog for a 10-minute walk around the vicinity. You may only be walking for ten minutes, but after a week that equals to 70 minutes, which is rather a lot of walking. Walking with your dog two times a day will double that number. If you don’t life too far from your office, consider walking all or a little bit of the way. Of course, if you live a two hour walk from your work place, it’s not such a great idea to walk there each day (but feel free to try if you think you can do it!). A 30 minute walk to your workplace is doable and if you walk to and from work, you’ll be walking for an hour each day. If you get on the buss to work, try walking to the next bus stop and incorporate some exercise to your day. Walking can easily be incorporated into your daily life.

Your body and overall health will be greatly made better by walking. You can expect to better your heart health and also slim down since walking is a type of aerobic exercise. Walking is a lot less problematic on your joints than running. My brother is very lean (but he eats a lot of junk food) and I ask him how he he can stay slim. He assures me he doesn’t have a clue, but he did tell me that he walks frequently each day. It all made sense when he said that. Walking is not difficult to do there’s no good reason you shouldn’t do it.

Try and get into a routine of walking each day since you’ll have a better chance you’ll stick to it, and with the right diet, you’ll be able to eliminate those extra pounds with no problem. If you walk, you’ll also feel healthier and you won’t be discouraged by it because it’s not strenuous at all, which will make you feel more inspired. As you walk more and notice changes, you’ll want to do more or hike up the intensity level of your walks. If you feel like you’re ready to move on to something more arduous, don’t be apprehensive to try. Go faster when you’re out walking and, if you like, jog for short distances. After this, you may wish to move on to harder workouts.

It’s not easy to find excuses for not taking walks for short distances every day. Even people with a lot on their plate can find 10 minutes daily to walk around the block or visit the local gym for a stint on the treadmill.
